    Hard disk is not accessible ?

    Hey guys,,
    i've got a "USB 2.0 to IDE Adapter" which is a USB device allows me to connect my external Hard Disk to my Laptop,,

    the problem is when i want to saftely remove the Hard disk and i choose to Remove it Saftely it never do, so i unplug the USB wire to disconnect it.

    so it happened to me this problem and i can't access my drive,,

    i dont know if it a folder syster problem or a virus cuz one of my friends told me that though, hope you help me out soon cuz im really need to get information data from the unaccessible partion

    Sounds like you corrupted the drive disconnecting it while something was still access it. One of the main reasons that windows won't safely remove the drive is that a program knows that it is present, and it could crash the program if the drive disappears.

    right click my computer-> manage-> disk management

    find out what it says in there, with it showing 0 bytes like that it looks like it windows isnt seeing any partition on the drive

    thnx JumboJP, I noticed that the file system of the damged partition is different, it says it's "Raw" instead of "NTFS"

    what can i do to make it NTFS and make the windows see the partition again. :eek:

    You may want to reformat it, the data may be corrupt.

    is there another way to make it readable and change the File system to NTFS

    cuz i have a really important docs and the damaged partition ...
