I opened HW Monitor fine yesterday, but when I try to open it today, I keep getting the following error...

    "Windows cannot complete this extraction.

The destination file can not be created"

    How do I fix this?

Yeah, redownload it, extract it to a folder from the zip/rar/etc. file. Then run the extracted exe. ;)

Thats weird. Make sure you are downloading the right version. (32bit vs. 64bit)

You saying that a system restore fixed it and you just had to reinstall winrar?
