so i have Vista Ultimate and i just got 3ds Max 9 ready for my uni course to start on Monday BUT it doesnt work i keep getting "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate the application" and then i get the warning that 3ds Max has stopped working. i have tried many "fixes" from running in compy mode: windows XP (service pack 2) and running as administator as well as disabling some functions but nothing works.

i have installed both servcie pack 1 and 2 aswell as a hotfix but still nothing works.

anyone know what i can do in order to get it to work correctly?

    thanx
