Go into the BIOS, change your hard drive from SATA to compatibility mode.

this is a simple fix. reboot the laptop, when the bios screen comes up, press F1. this gets you into the bios setup. then, config - serial ata (sata) - change the sata controller mode option to compatility, F10 and then enter. then the xp install disk will see the hard drive.

right click each, choose UNINSTALL, reboot. Windows will redetect.

If it works automatically, fine, but if Windows hardware detection starts, CANCEL. Then download the drivers manualy and install using the set up routing

    Hi, Folks,

I am a newcomer on this.
I have XP Installed on a R61i Laptop, previously installed with Vista.
Now I CANNOT see the wireless component.
The caption of the subject did mentioned about wireless connection, but I can't see that in the thread, can someone advise, how should I go about?

    Thanks... ysmak
