    Hi,
I just got my new LENOVO X200 and wanted to have a clean install of XP (I bought the computer with a XP downgrade), so I followed one of the clean install guides online (from the lenovo forum I think...) and after downloading all the drivers from the Lenovo website I inserted the XP original disc into the system and restarted and then booted from CD and the blue screen came up and the XP install process begun (it said it is doing all sort of stuff like checking hard drive and so on...), but soon after when the setup wrote: SETUP IS LOADING WINDOWS, a blue error screen came up with the following message:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. RUN CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

    Technical information:

    ***STOP: 0X0000007B (0XF78E2524, BXC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

I tried a a few times after that and the message reappeared. I can't continue with my install like this, so I would appreciate any advice and help from people that this occured to them as well.

    Thanks a lot!!!!!!
    Nir.

You need to install the SATA drivers for the HDD. XP does not natively support SATA HDDs.

You can go in the BIOS, in the advanced options, look for a setting which changes the HDD Mode to compatibility/IDE.

You can also F6-install the SATA drivers using a Floppy Drive at the beginning of the XP Install procedure. Or slipstream the SATA drivers and make a new nlited XP disc. (First, see the Southbridge Controller using CPU-Z > Mainboard, before downloading any drivers)
