    Ok here's the deal

I go to the dowload page here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/default.aspx

then i choose "get the release candidate", select the 64bit version in english and click go....i copy the key from that page and click download. The page opens and it says my download should start or i should get a message to install the activex app etc.....nothing happens!! It thinks for a while and then the page with the product key and download button opens again, with a different key this time.

I emptied my cookies because the page says so but is there something i'm missing here??

please help, i really want to test this!!

    Nope...same result :(

Could it have something to do with the download manager mentioned on the page? I might not have that installed but i also don't get a prompt to do so.
Any other sources for the download? Would downloading the RC through torrent be legal? Since it's freely available now and all

it's not legal as only from MS is it legal. Also, there's supposedly an infected version out on torrents.

What browser are you using? i downloaded it with firefox just now, no issues

IE8....you would think it would work with their own browser, right? ;)

I'll give it a try on my other lappy with xp and IE7 + Firefox

ok it's downloading now on the other laptop. The problem was somehow with the Akamai Download Manager...in IE7 i did get a prompt to install it and page opened etc. After installing the ActiveX plugin same story, i just got the download page over and over iso the download actually starting soooo.....Internet Explorer has issues with dowloading Microsoft software!?! Pretty funny actually ;)

I had the same problem expect I couldn't download in IE7 or IE8 (two different machines). I did find that Opera and Firefox both download fine, which is werid to me because neither support ActiveX which the IE prompt implied was required.
