Anyone else experiencing recent problems with Google Chrome? Think it was updated recently. I'm getting strange slow page loadings occasionally, and strange hangs & delays, quite often having to reload pages. For instance, Google Maps Street View just took ages to load different scenes just now, but no problem in Firefox. Also experiencing some hanging on these forums too. Cleared Browser content temporary files & no improvement. What's up with Chrome, anyone experiencing this kind of weirdness with it over the last couple of days?

When you installed Chrome did you do Custom or Let me choose? Cause from my experience Chrome will try to install varies toolbar and ads into your system. You should remove any toolbars and addons that you didn't install and uninstall Chrome and then reinstall with Custom settings and uncheck those junk addons and that should repair your Chrome to what you want to install not what Google wants you to install. I found this on my brothers family computers they install Chrome express install and got junk installed as well. Remove the junk and toolbars and Chrome went back to working status. Also doing the express install it messes up IE setting as well as I saw on their computers and once I uninstalled Chrome and the junks then reinstalled just Chrome everything was fine.

Chrome doesn't come with any add-ons in the installer. If the Chrome installer did, it didn't come directly from Google. What Chrome does do, however, is automatically re-download any add-ons you had when you log in to your Google account. Those can simply be removed.

I haven't noticed any slowdowns on Chrome other than on Android.

Thanks for the replies, I checked the Extensions I'm using, only got Adblock installed which I mostly leave disabled & then just turn it on for sites with terrible adverts (like Toms Hardware!). My limited use of Chrome today (not using PC much today) is showing that Chrome is alright at the moment. Not sure what was up the previous two days, (internet download speeds were alright at that point so it wasn't that)! Will report back if Chrome develops issues again & also if I then manage to subsequently solve it. Hopefully it was just a blip, because I like Chrome & it's always been reliable for me.

It could be that they had a bugged build and it was patched up.

Could be, but doesn't Chrome ask you to restart once it's updated in the background? (I would have noticed that, that's not happened since the problems had started.)

Good idea, a Chrome reinstall is a painless procedure. Chrome's working ok now for me since yesterday (don't know why), if it plays up again then I'll take your advice & reinstall Chrome as well as deleting browser history, temporary files, etc.

I've honestly never been asked to restart it and I put my machines for weeks at a time and Chrome is always running.

Weird, unless I had brain freeze and got confused with Firefox behaviour. Either way, Chrome's OK at the moment.
