Does anyone use Konfabulator? How is that? I was thinking of adding some gadgets to my little HP Mini but not sure what to use. Any ideas?

Curious - do either of those dock applets give you an option to reserve a few pixels (specifically for the dock) at the bottom/right/left side of the screen?

What do you mean by "reserving a few pixels"?

    cheers ...

Yeah I am not sure you you mean Chris. You can move the dock app to the sides and bottom of the screen. You can also change the pixel size of the icons. At least those options are available in Objectdock which I am currently using. I am sure rocketdock and rklauncher are similar.

It's the thing that OS X does to keep the dock "clean." In the screenshot, you can see how the Firefox window doesn't cover the dock. Even if I resize it, it will not use the bottom x number of pixels of the screen. Similar to how the taskbar is not covered in Windows (unless you autohide it).

Ah I see what you mean. Yes you can do that in Objectdock. It's under the positioning tab and you check a box called "Reserve Edge of Screen".

Thanks - I didn't see it in rklauncher, so I thought I'd ask. I'll have a look at objectdock and rocket dock.
