    Hi...

I am an avid user of Gmail. I used to use Thunderbird at one time to access my Gmail, but it became too cumbersome. I uninstalled it.

Recently, I downloaded GmailNotifier Plus, which tells me if new mail has arrived and from who, but I still have to fire up a browser tab to check my mail.

I am looking for a "client" that is dedicated to Gmail and which I can use as an independent app. Apparently, in the Mac world, there are utilities like Sparrow etc. I found this for Windows. Does anyone have any experience with this or similar utilities specifically for Win 7?

Also, GeeMail (which I linked to above) uses Adobe Air. Is that a problem in any way?

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: I believe Mailplane is a utility for use on Mac. I am looking for something similar but for Win 7. Thanks.

Gmail app that comes in Google Pack. Google Pack

I don't see it as separate download, basically it is just a shortcut.
    ""C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Apps\googleapps.exe" --mail.google.com"

Perhaps you need to install whole Google docs or whatever it comes with (I did). That isn't offline app, at least I don't think so.

    Chrome and enable offline mail.

Or use a pop3 email client like Thunderbird

Gmail can also be used as IMAP4 (rather than POP3)..

I've been using Windows Live Mail 2011 for gmail (and hotmail), for sometime now, and things have been working fine so far. :)
Gmail works flawlessly although (ironically) syncing of hotmail emails have been buggy. But Gmail works fine and i haven't encountered any hick-ups. :)

I am sure it works fine, but the very thought of downloading my mail (occasionally, I need to search through them) into Live Mail 2011 is daunting. Plus, I have a whole host of folders, which only messes things up.
