    Hey all,

I use GIMP 2.6, but have tried earlier versions which still didn't fix the problem. Anyway, I get the issue of "The procedure entry point g_type_register_static_simple could not be located in the dynamic link library libgobject-2.0-0.dll" I re-installed twice, with two different versions and replaced the .dll file using one from different sites. I have no idea what I broke.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    A7X

completely reinstall, reboot, and then reinstall. This time make sure you do not accidently uncheck the 'install GTK runtime' box.

GIMP/win has had GTK+ integrated for what, 3 years now. No need to install it on your own. In fact, you can cause a pile of problems if you do so. GIMP is generally compiled for a specific version of GTK+. Going 'off the reservation' with newer/older versions of GTK+ is asking for trouble.

GIMP 2.2.6 is the current release. v2.2.7 is a development/debugging release not intended for general use. v2.2.8 will be the next public release; it's a bit late but now that the Libre Graphics meetings are over, the release should be rolling out 'any day now'.

Problem fixed!!! Went into Windows folder and deleted the .dll and reinstalled GIMP. It put the correct .dll in there and it works fine now.
