Finished backing up all the files and ready to wipe the drive clean for a full/fresh install. Anything I should know before I do this? My first fresh install for Vista.

Is there any guides on NBR that can help me with this? Anyone care to post a link to it? Ive be searching the forums for the past 25mins and maybe its because its so late at night, err morning or im just not looking hard enough.

    Thanks!

you got drivers for all your stuff?
There's not a whole lot to installing it.
Have you checked to see if all the apps you use will work with Vista?

make sure you have at least the network drivers (and wlan key if needed) ready. that way, you won't need to fiddle with any second system and usb key just to get to the internet and drivers.

Vista is sold in your local Best Buy and Walmart. In essence, any soccer mom is supposed to be able to install Vista.

    It's not that hard. Really.

Actually I should have stated, it's a fresh(re-install, 1st install is of course done by the factory) on my Asus F8Va laptop. Thus I have the recovery disk (Full Vista) and all the drivers disk as well.

By the way, I would like to dual boot XP Pro as well. Should I install that first or can I install XP after Vista has already been installed?

Install the older OS first, as the newer OS will know how to handle the older one. Not vice versa.

Well, true, it is easier to install them in that order, however you can still add entries to the boot manager afterwards (installing XP second) with software like VistaBootPRO or EasyBCD.
