Ok, so I go on xmas break on friday and Over the break I want to do a clean install of Vista on my 1520. I have soem questions. First, I'd like to keep the system recovery partition and dell media direct particions the whay they are, can I do that. Next, what disc do I use for a clean install since dell doesn't give you a vista disc? Next, How can I keep a couple dell programs like the pc tuneup one? Thanks for the help everyone. I'm sure i'll have more questions soon.

Dell didn't give you a disc? what the hell? Ring them up and complain (nicely) until you get one.
