    Hi all,
I have a friend who is attending a course in France. He would like to buy a laptop but the laptops in France uses the AZERTY keyboard format. Now the issue is whether he can buy the laptop and install the english version of the windows. Would the keyboard be all messed up, i.e. Q=A, W=Z, etc?

    Thanks.

When you install Windows 2000/XP/Vista (and possibly previous versions, though I am unsure), there is an option to select your keyboard layout. Either "AZERTY" or "French" should be a choice, and most likely autodetected.

Also, after the install, the setting can be changed from the "Language and Regional Settings" dialogue in the Control Panel.
