I need a free image package which will be mainly used to resize photographs for my website. I used to use the batch function in Fireworks 3 to do it but windows vista does not seem to like fireworks 3!
Can anyone recommend a good package which can be used to resize photographs and reduce their quality slightly that is free?
    Thanks

+1 for GIMP. I've never used it but I hear it's pretty good.

Gimp is good for more advanced stuff, paint.net is much easier to use/learn.

    I third paint.net.

VERY easy to use. I actually have both Photoshop and Paint.net. Why? Paint.net is faster to start up and whatnot when I want to just crop and paste. (Basically a replacement for the gold old Paint)

Either Infranview or Xnview can batch-resize/convert images fairly easily.
