    Formatting Shortcuts in Office 2007?

    Okay, so when I was using Word XP, I was able to enable so when I would type a word like *this* it would come out as bold, and, I think, /this/ would make it italicized. I can't seem to find something like that in Office 2007...would anyone know how to set that up or what it's officially called? I use my laptop to take notes and it would be SO much faster if I were able to use quick shortcuts like that instead of manually doing it with my mouse.

    not sure about that, I'm still learning Office 2007 myself. there's always the old ctrl+b or ctrl+I.
