I'm trying to make a Fonts backup folder so that Vista doesnt need to load them all. im trying to copy the unused fonts into a backup folder but it isnt working. i highlight them, hold ctrl and drag to new folder. uac prompts, i say continue and ok, it shows that its copying but nothing comes up in the new folder.
the folder isnt hidden or anything, i refreshed the new folder and still nothing. anyone know a solution?

I can copy fonts by right-dragging it to my desktop and selecting "Copy here", and there's no UAC prompt or anything, it just copies it. (I forget what ctrl-drag does... I just right-drag and select something from the menu.) Anyway maybe you lack permissions on the destination folder? Just guessing.

I don't really recommend putting stuff in c:\windows. Although if it's in a folder, I guess it's not so bad.

I suggest making a separate directory (mine is c:\misc) directory for system-related files that you may or may not need at some point. That way you let the OS have its own directory that you don't directly mess with. Also, you avoid UAC prompts this way... except maybe one when initially creating the directory.
