    Hi all,

Got a small question about the performance of Flip 3D on my T61... When i have a few windows open (more than 2 or 3) and i engage flip3d and fip between the windows, its a little "laggy", i mean the framerate seems to be low, and when i switch to a window the framerate seems to drop even more (especially if i flip between full screen IE windows), altho just maximising and minimising windows seems nice and smooth...

The 3d card is an NVS 140m 128mb ram and im using the latest Microsoft Nvidia drivers from Windows Update...

Anyone got any ideas of why the performance of flip3d seems somewhat sluggish on my laptop? Spec is 2ghz duo, 3gig ram, nvs140m graphics...

    Cheers
    Will

I have no idea why you're 3D flip is lagging. I have nearly the same specifications as you but 2GB RAM and I dont have a dedicated graphics card. It doesnt lag for me even with 8-9 windows and a heavy load on resources. Hopefully someone with expertise can enlighten the subject.

Do 3D games work at the expected speed? You might also consider going to lenovo.com and getting the drivers from them, and NOT using the Windows Update drivers. Those are rarely the best choice.

Seems like it may be a little low for what's supposed to be an 8400 equivalent, but you are running it at a pretty high resolution. I don't use Vista, play CS:S or own an 8400 based machine, though.

Some people in the Dell forum (with Latitudes with 135m/140m cards) have had better luck with the drivers at laptopvideo2go.com rather than the drivers Dell bundled... it may be the same story with the Thinkpads. You could try those drivers, or try asking in the Lenovo forum. Good luck.

Try the latest drivers. It helped me a lot.
