As far as using those two download managers for your computer, which would you guys recommend? Experiences with both?

I use Firefox 1.5 as my browser with the FlashGot extension, if that matters.

download accelerator was the best free one IMO before it went spyware crazy. I also tried fresh download which was good because it has no spyware. Yet it has half the features as download acclerator.

I have heard of FlashGot before but have never used it. I guess Ill try it and report back.

To my mind, FlashGet is better but I can't stand the banner and the way it opens up windows whenever it feels like doing it.
DAP - I didn't like this. I use MassDownloader right now and it's maybe a little bit faster than Flashget because it allows me setup the minimal size of each thread as well as the number of threads.

I don't know about FDM, but I've tried and compared between FlashGet & Internet Download Manager(IDM), and IDM leading the way overall.
