Im having a probem uploading any files to forums. Im trying to add a picture to a forum and when I click browse its blank and Firefox gets hung up and I have to close it through the task manager. It also happened on photobucket but after I uninstalled / reinstalled Firefox it fixed the problem.

Ive uninstalled / installed Firefox but Im still having the same problem on forums. I dont have any add-ons etc. It even happes in safe mode!!?? Anyone know a fix. Ive tried all the way down to Firefox 13 and the same problem exsist. It doesnt happen in IE so its related to Firefox.

Did you try using Revo when you uninstalled Firefox? Just to eliminate leftover data.

Is it just on NBR, if not are the other forums also using vBulletin?

To anyone else having this issue with NBR and firefox, let us know? If it turns out to be widespread, I doubt it, but if it does, we'll forward it to the admins.

When you get to add files dialog are you choosing Basic uploader or select file? I tried both with a variant of FF (Pale moon) and both work fine. I also tried Vbulletin Default and the new style and all seems good. One suggestion, create a new userID - login with it and test.

    ;)

rrcompton - Make a new Windows user account and try to upload something again via Firefox. Are you getting Firefox from Mozilla's download page or a mirror site? Unlikely that you got a bad download since you tried different versions, but I'm still curious.

    Sorry for the late reply.

I created another windows user account but the same problem is still happening. I also created a new profile in Firefox, same problem...I get an empty file upload like up top and Firefox just freezes. It doesn't happen in IE or Chrome just Firefox. I've completely uninstalled Firefox and the problem still exists? And I'm downloading Firefox from Mozillas download page. I've deleted all add-ons and deleted most of the plug-ins. It was working fine w/ Firefox 18 then one day I couldn't upload pictures? I didn't download any new program, didn't get any new add-ons or extensions or plug-ins!?? The freezing is also happening w/ Photobucket too. If I drop and drag pics I can upload through Photobucket just fine but if I click on browse files button Firefox brings up the file upload and it freezes like up top.

I would just use Chrome but I use the search a lot and I'm so use to Firefoxs separate search bar its hard to use another browser. I don't upload pics a lot but when I do I just use chrome or IE but I'd like to figure out a fix. I've since upgraded to Firefox 20.0.1 hoping it would solve my problem but no luck.

    Any other suggestions??

Try using Pale Moon. Built it on the Firefox source code but much much faster and optimized

    :(

Only other troubleshooting I can think of at the moment is to boot into Safe Mode (with networking) and boot Firefox in it's own safe mode (add ons disabled). If it doesn't happen then, it's more likely to be a service or extension causing the conflict. If it continues regardless, well... back to the drawing board.

Tried safe mode too and I've disabled all extensions, add-ons, appearance and I still have the same problem!??

EDIT: I just went all the way back to Firefox 3 and I dont have any problem uploading any pics. Too bad most addons dont work because its so old.

Possible malware infection? Would be an odd one if it only affected FF 4 and up in this regard, though.
