Ah. Looks like it didn't post or something. Weird.

Basically, I feel like Firefox gets bogged down after a while and a clean install usually fixes that. Is there any way to do a fresh install while retaining all of the old information in the old install such as bookmarks, awesomebar history, plug-ins...

    Thanks.

Normally when you do a fresh install it is to clean everything

I find Javascript bogs down most web browsers, which is why I either use No Script extension or turn off javascript altogether. Also check task mgr and see how much memory FF is using. ;)

I got tired of having Firefox become sluggish and crash. I just moved on to Chrome, much more seamless browsing experience.

I don't have problems like that beyond the website itself being the culprit that causes the slow down and crashes. A little more info as to where and why it becomes sluggish and just general talk back doesn't tell us much as to the nature of the sluggish and crashes to help others know what to look for?? And not knowing if there are plugins or not what was installed into FF would help also.

I think turning off javascript causes more problems then it helps as site does use javascripts to run off. Turning javascript off would make sites that uses it not work properly.

I find the trade off worth it. ;)

If a website relies heavily on Flash and Javascript I usually just leave Javacript turned off. If the website doesn't cooperate I leave and don't go back. Also keep in mind that turning off Javascript also has other benefits like disabling site malware that redirects you to other websites.

I think by know you've probably figured out my disdain for Flash and Javascript. :p

Oh yeah....Also not having a good A/V or Firewall is also the culprit and not updating will also leave you open to malware and Virus. Anyone not updating their system manually or auto update should get malware/virus. Plain and simple truth. Upkeep of your protection is your responsibility and leaving that to the way side is inviting problems. Unfortunately your experience won't improve much since Flash and Javascript exist in most if not all sites nowdays the legit sites if your going to unscrupulous site then that not the fault of software you use its the Endusers fault.
