There cannot be much, if any, difference between the latest Release Candidate and the actual release. I'll probably get to it on Wednesday.

Meh the filehippo one installed the latest RC even if it said Firefox 3.5 above the RC downloads
-
Just saw it on FileHippo too...but it seems that the final Firefox 3.5 is now available on Mozilla's mirrors though.

I just downloaded it from the Mozilla Mirror, the performance increase is noticeable, it scores a 93 / 100 in the Acid 3 Test as well, too bad that some of my Add-On's did not work with it (Themes, for the most part).
The one on FileHippo is not a Release Candidate, I think, when I clicked on the "About Mozilla Firefox" file, it said "Mozilla Firefox 3.5", not "Mozilla Firefox 3.5 RC3", but, I ended up downloading from the Mozilla Mirror, just in case. -
Using the link above, this is likely the final version of Firefox 3.5. I just installed it and like Aeris said, this doesn't seem to have any release candidate designations. The online documentation is not updated as of yet, but will probably be by later today. (This is probably the Release Candidate - What's New page that people are getting, but it is technically a placeholder that hasn't been updated for the final release.)
Edit: Check Mozilla's FTP and download the appropriate version of Firefox 3.5 for yourself! ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/3.5/ -

one happy dave -
I am already using Firefox 3.5 now.
When I install over 3.0, it broke my Firefox installation. I had to uninstall using Revo Uninstaller (clean uninstall) and then install FF 3.5.
I do, however, notice quite an improvement over 3.0.11. The start up seems faster, and I hope it is not just me. I also very like the Private Browsing feature. Though I love for Private Browsing in tabs too, not necessarily have to hide the tabs if I want to Private Browsing. If I remember correctly, there's an extension that does a bit like this, the one that right click on the tab and pick forget this tab or something.
If you want to download your language and not US, use this link: http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-3.5&os=win&lang=ja
Replace ja with your language code. -

jup it's faster on all sorts of machines i've installed it so far.
-
I think I will pass for my working comps until the update shows up. One entry in the change log kinda give me a flag if I should do a clean install or let it update and remove the "old" plug-in.
"# Use the new Private Browsing Mode and the updated Clear Recent History function (in the Tools menu) to keep your browsing habits a secret.
# Tear tabs off the tab bar to create new windows, and drag and drop them from one Firefox window to another.
# Watch a video in your browser without needing any plugins or external media players.
# Control the Smart Location Bar results with special characters."

the bold marked point from you is the video-tag of html5. i love it. no flash anymore to watch movies and videos (for pages that adopt to it. video bay from pirate bay for example only uses that technology)
-
I hope that it will be more than just no flash
But yes, FF is getting more compact and self reliant

well, it's a opensource openstandard licencefree webvideo standard.
that is something, but not much in itself still great.
and the videos don't crash trough proxies, as flash still does
i can't wait for the day where i don't need any adobe product on my system anymore
as at most hack'a'day contests, they always exploit windows trough some adobe products -

I hardly use Adobe until lately with its 9 version, been using FoxitReader all this time. But I notice that FoxitReader is having some issue lately with Vista and W7.
But if FF can deliver with a built-in pdf-reader in the future it will be great.
cheers ... -
Downloading it off the Firefox site now.
-
Just installed. I must say, it's pretty snappy.
-
Updated to 3.5 this morning. There are a few nice cosmetic changes and it feels a bit snappier, but it could just be the placebo effect. I'll need more time using it to really determine that.
-
It seems faster to me
-
Speed is relativity with Firefox I like the way the whole browser works when rendering a heavy graphics loaded page.
cheers ... -
It's super fast for me.
-
i like the chromifox extreme theme
it makes it look just like chrome which is awesome -
Wow, it is much faster for me in heavy loaded pages. Excellent job guys at Mozilla. Thank you so much

Would anyone know why I am unable to pull-down address bar to access bookmarks or previously viewed Websites?
The location bar is set to show my history and bookmarks, yet it does nothing of the sort. -
Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
This is fast.
To be fair, first thing I did was check my about:config settings to see if they carried over, and I noticed that I hadn't changed my max persistent connections per server, so I bumped it to 16 from 8. So I don't know if it's 3.5 or that, or a combination, but man, it's fast.
Just a thought- I finally updated to IE8 also and man, how/why people are still using IE over FF, especially people who are knowledgeable about such things, is beyond me.
Oh, and add-on compatibility wise, a big one for me is Tab Mix Plus, get a compatible developer version here.
My theme, iFox Metal, also wasn't working, so I got this to make it work along with a few other incompatible add-ons. All working without nary a hiccup.
And please, please, if you're using FF, make sure you're using Ad-Block Plus... -
I will be honest, even after FF 3.5, which is a great improvement, I still find myself using Chrome. It starts up and loads my webpage much faster than anything else.
-
-
After comparing it with Chrome, I can say they are pretty much even. So now Firefox has some of the fasted speed, plus it's diversity with addon's, plus new features. What else could you ask for?
-
Faster startup time.
-
davepermen Notebook Nobel Laureate
get a good hdd. helps your whole system, not just the browser
but on lower end systems, yeah, the startup time is still *meh*. but it got much better than it was, at least. -
Much faster with a boatload of features to get used to. Videos download is better. Privacy on or off? Master password feature does not work?
-
I can't really tell much of a difference right now but i've only been using it to casually check emails and so forth i.e. no heavy usage.
One thing I have noticed though is that you can no longer double click on a tab and then use the arrow keys to switch between tabs as you like. Does anyone else know of a way to switch between tabs?
EDIT: Sorted it, forgot about ctrl+tab, oops! -
Easy to get confused when there's too many options
