For years, I have been doing Photography as a hobby. I have thousands of pictures sorted in files by Month+Year they were taken. I have been sharing these images on Facebook with friends and family for a while now. What is Extremely frustrating is when I want to find the original file of an image I have shared on facebook and Can't remember When I took it! What I would like to be able to do is save a image from facebook and have software to help me find the original version on my HDD. I have downloaded 6 different Duplicate Finder programs and none of them allow me to use a reference image and say "Only find copies of this specific image". Google image search has this functionality and its odd to me I am having so much trouble finding PC software to do the same thing.

Anyone got any advice for me?
    Thank You!

I can probably make a tool for you if you like, it shouldn't take long.

Edit: Scratch that, just re-read your whole paragraph. What you are looking for isn't a duplicate finder, since by uploading a file to facebook the image will get compressed by facebook and basically it's not going to be the "same" file as the one you uploaded.

You might have better luck looking for an image comparing software.

This one might be able to do what you're looking for: VisiPics. CooLMinE is right in that you need something that analyzes the image instead of something checking for identical checksums and such.

just download Picasa 3 and it will scan and find every picture on your system and put them in folders all in one place.
