I had a problem a while ago. After restoring from hibernation, everything on my machine was crashing.Any program I opened opened that winodw "This program has stopped working." Ranged from the Command Prompt to Explorer to literally any program. I tried running the Command Prompt in Safe Mode along with explorer and got the same problems. Before hibernation I didn't have any problems. I fixed it by just doing a quick reformat, but does anyone have a clue what might have happened?

There was never a BSOD? I would think this happened because of an incompatible program you previously had installed, but other than that, I'm not sure.

Could've been a program or driver that you installed, or possibly malware or a virus. Oh well, good to know that you got it sorted.

Yeah No BSOD. It was weird, because I hadn't installed anything in months, and my browsing habits are as safe as those that don't use AV (and I use MSEE just to be safe, my choice to). When I try things out I usually use a Virtual OS to give those a try too, so I think I'm pretty safe. Only thing I can tihnk of is when I was hibernating, Windows corrupted some data it was saving from the ram, so when it loaded everything back up whatever it was just caused things to crash. It sucks because I couldn't even access any logs to see what was going on, heck even Task Manager was crashing, but restart after restart, Windows loaded fine, got my desktop, got my gadgets, got the taskbar, but running other programs just died. There was also a background wmp program that just kept dying too. Really weird stuff. Lucky for me happened at the end of a week so I had the weekend to reformat. I tested my ram already a couple times, and that passes. Just no clue.

You can try updating the Chipset and SATA AHCI/ RAID drivers.
