Ok so I am installing windows on my MacBook Pro, however every single time i get to the point of downloading SP1, it give me the error and wont let me install it. It is very aggravating. And advcse? I think I might have done something wrong, corrupted a file somewhere and I might have to reinstall the OS. Anyway, thanks for your help, any ideas are appreciated.

I recommend using the standalone SP1 updater if you're not already using it.

And when you run it, make sure it identifies the Publisher as Microsoft... otherwise it didn't download right. (I encountered that problem.)

Are you installing Windows via Boot Camp, or just Windows straight on the Apple machine?

    cheers ...

Im installing it via bootcamp. I have a feeling that I might need to reinstall it again. Which wont be bad, cause it was quick, but if I cant get SP1, then I cant get updates after that right? And I manually downloaded it like Swarmer said, but it is still showing up in windows updater. Can I get it to recognize that it is already there now, or am I kinda stuck?

Did you run the file that you downloaded? If not, you'll need to run it (by double-clicking the file). Running the updater will take a long time... like an hour or more.

If you ran the updater, go to Control Panel > System & Maint > System. Underneath the copyright message it should say "Service Pack 1" if it installed correctly. Does it say that?

Well I know that I installed it, or it should be installed, it took about an hour, went through the 3 stages, took forever, but I'll be in a position to check if it is installed like you said in about a half hour, hopefully it is.
