I disabled my OS, Windows XP, this morning in msconfig, advanced general tab. My display is black and when I restart the F8, F12, or F2 keys are not giving me any options. How can I enable my OS?

Could you be more precise about what you disabled?

    1st; I opened msconfig.
2nd; I clicked on Diagnostic Startup in the general tab
3rd; I opened the services tab & disabled all, clicked on apply
    4th; The screen went black

I don't think it's physically impossible to not get Windows to boot up by selecting some things in msconfig. I think it's a problem with your monitor. Even if you disabled everything the BIOS message and the loading windows thing should still come up.

Thanks for your input. I connected a desktop monitor to my laptop and was then able to boot in F8 safemode and restore my startup..WHEW!! I was really sweating it. I have just enough knowledge to be dangerous.
