I recently changed over to Firefox after using Internet Explorer for the last five years and I have to say that I couldn't be happier with Firefox. I should have changed over years ago. Now the next logical step would be to dump Outlook Express and download Thunderbird but this change makes me a bit nervous. It's very important that I get all my emails as I am currently seeking new employment and have my resume sent to multiple companies and I'm waiting for an answer. I know that some of you may think that I shouldn't change anything at this time because of my need for error free email and I kind of understand that level of thinking. Have any of you ever made this change and can you please share what the experience was like as far as ease of set up, transferring your address book etc. Any and all information on this topic will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
    Respectfully,

it should be a seamless process, but if you're at all nervous, just wait and then do it after you're done with interviewing

As long as you're comfortable with configuring pop 3 accounts you'll be fine. Re-entering those passwords and addy's accurately, and setting auth schemes can be problematic if you're not, or got drunk the night before, or have ADD, or... you get the idea. :)

Thunderbird is an excellent email client, though not as robust and integrated with Windows as *cough cough* Outlook (not to be confused with outlook express). You'll do fine with it.

    Hi, congratulations on switching over.

You should not have to dump anything. One of Thunderbirds great features is its ability to co-exist with ohter email clients. You can install Thunderbird and still continue to use Outlook. However, I do not know if you will be able to pop msn or hotmail. I use thunderbird and am able to pop gmail, sbcglobal, yahoo.

Switch over to opera, and you'll forget Firefox, Opera does come with built in mail client, a nice one too
