You will want to download the first tool on the page. It scans through your files and folders and tells you where the largest files are being stored. If you're like me, you have a lot of multiple gig files laying around that are not in use! This is a great tool to free up space on your harddrive, or simply to organize things.

I can't say that I trust this program. What is the point of knowing where your largest files are stored? How does that determine whether or not you need them?
If you want to find files on your PC, use Vista's integrated search engine. -
The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
Thanks.I was looking for one like this

Press F3 while on your blank wallpaper screen on Vista, then select Advanced Search.
-
Also, check out WinDirStat, which is really good and been around for a while.
To other posters: Just because the keyword "find" usually means "text search", it does not take much to read the rest and see this is not the context it's being used. -

Guess I'll agree with AKA JD. -
Launchy, dude.

If you take a look at this screenshot (windirstat), you'll see that this type of tool is nothing like what you are talking about, and has a very different utility:
-
Wow, it looks like a VLSI board.
-
RecentX ftw.
-
Mmmm. It looks pretty. Pretty POINTLESS! Ahahaha....no, I'm sure it could be useful.

I don`t trust this program either,or any that searches through all my documents.
The OS searching is fast enough if you have Indexing on.
Granted , it can only look for specific files, but it`s better for me.So far. -
I can recommend a program with the same purpose of those apps, but I believe it better displays the data than both of those. Download Squad suggested this app.

I don't use Search much, so I have Indexing turned off. Calms my HD down.
I know where all my stuff is, and I have it indexed with Launchy for quick opening. -

Solidus, are you affiliated with this program in some way?
-
My largest files are ISOs, and I know exactly where they are.

FWIW, PerfectDisk 2008 will tell you the distribution (in percentages) of various groupings of file types, if you don't already have a pretty good inkling.
Easy tool to find files on your pc.
