Hi, I have the Dell Inspiron 1520, with the integrated Sigmatel HD audio card. I was wondering if there was a program, (vista compatible) that would allow me to increase the bass, or modify the EQ without too much distortion? I would like to find one for free. Thanks.

i got that too, and i use the sigmatel HD audio codec cd that came w/ it. icon should be in ur tray panel, white square w/ a white dial and blue tick. double click it and the audio center pops up. you want the first and last ones. first allows you to increase bass, last one is a really awesome EQ. was using itunes EQ at first, then found this, and SOOO much better.

That's odd, did that come with the CD? I don't have that icon on my tray, in fact, I never did, even before I reformatted my computer, and installed the latest sigmatel drivers. Did you get that audigy software upgrade when you bought the laptop?

You need an external soundcard my friend.

EQ will only emphasis the crappy sound of integrated laptop soundcard.

But if u do need then i can recommend u SRS Audio Sandbox.

Ya its not free but its the best Audio software.

Otherwise use inbuilt EQ of iTunes, foobar and other media players.
