I have an M860TU or (Kobalt Nexus) notebook and i've just tried to update my GPU driver.
I uninstalled the driver with windows from Device manager but now it won't let me install the other driver (186.55) Everytime i restart the computer it automatically installs some stock driver instead.
What do i do? I cant find the Restart in Safe Mode option either. I have Vista x64 bit if that helps any.
Thanks in advance. Any advice is welcome. Even if its to tell me i have a pea brain.

Maybe the v186.55 driver is not WHQL certified? Vista 64-bit edition does not allow non-WHQL drivers to be installed on the computer. Or, maybe the driver is meant for a 32-bit version of Vista. You need to get the 64-bit version of the driver.

If I'm not wrong, your graphics card is a NVIDIA 9800M GT. If so, try this link where you can download the driver for the 9800M GT. This driver is the latest, WHQL certified and made for 64-bit version of Vista.
