New HP laptop, first time with in-built wireless. Now I've got no intention for the time being to use it wirelessly so I was wondering what in XP Pro I can dump from taking up system resources that is related purely to wireless?

I've been looking at the processes running and the Intel Pro app and HP's Wireless Assistant.

    Some guidance would be useful.

    Cheers.

It's kinda of a waste isn't it? A laptop is all about using a notebook wirelessly and moving it around.

However, the Intel Client is the main program, but I'm not sure what HP adds along with it.

Well I managed quite fine without it on my old machine. But then I've always been a fan of wires and have plenty of wireless reservations (but that's another matter)

I think ProSet is the key, I believe some here prefer Windows own handling anyway.

Go to msconfig to disable all the startups (intel, hp, etc) and services.msc to disable any services those applications have and wireless zero config (the windows default wireless client)
