Can anyone confirm me if Crysis 1 and Stalker SOC work with windows 8.1?

Anything that runs on Windows 7 will run on Windows 8.

Hmm, Football Manager 2011 wouldn't install under Windows 8. So your saying MS fixed the dual desktop issue with W8.1 where some games wouldn't install?

    Mostly true, not entirely.

Also, even if it runs, it is no guarantee it will run well.

Note that games for the most part do...

If it is made by Cisco, or has a Cisco name anywhere near it, do not expect it to work well with Win8.

If the game installs, try using the compatibility mode to run it as if it were Vista SP2. This works for Crysis 1. And, no, just because it installs and runs under 7 is no guarantee it will run under 8. Microsoft has a compatibility checker that can be used:

    Windows Compatibility Center

Stalker SoC is said to work. If really needed, there is always the possibility of copying and pasting system files missing/changed from windows 8 that you can replace with files from windows 7. As such, a favorite program of mine, Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000 v2 SR-1, STILL works in windows 7 SP1 x64 provided I move some files from XP here and there.

Stalker SoC works on my 8.1 laptop if that helps, I think I had Crysis 1 working as well. I can't remember any major problems with either of them.
