    Do Not Update Chrome To The Newest Dev Build

    IT WILL NOT ALLOW ANYTHING LARGER than 40mb to download anything larger just stops at 40.. just a warning. i updated all my machine and now this really sucks

    I generally never update to beta software. I'm rarely in the business to test people's software after a day of doing just that at work.

    the newest build was just released a couple hours ago... so then you dont have the newest

    4.0.211.2 is the one with the issue.. its right on the dev blod that it also states this, sync also no longer works and for some it crashes the second its opened. flash has been broken since a few builds ago.. for my flash on my own web page it will not update when clicked. works fine in ie and firefox..

    Why would it stop downloading after 40 MB? It's probably nothing wrong with the beta software.

    Just a question, why would you download a huge file using build-in downloader from the browser? The newest dev build for me can't even allow me to type the url address. Everytime I try it the url bar will go black and chrome will crash.

    this version has now been pulled sucks big time for those who got nailed with it as a update though.. time to reinstall and go back a older one

    ah, that's why it is called a 'dev build'. Generally, if you are not formally involved in the testing/reporting/code-mongering, using the dev builds isn't a good idea.

    Yups, from Google's Chrome Blog:

    "UPDATE: 2009-09-22 - 4.0.211.7 is being pushed to Windows. It contains 2 fixes, the first resolves the issue which prevented large downloads and the second is a stability fix which should resolve a number of crashes (bug 22135). Thank you for you again for your patience".
