So I own a sager Np5796 with 9800gtx 4 gig ram Vista Ult 64 bit. I am a driver junkie and always like to keep things up to date. I got to laptopvideo2go and from there update my display driver.
Recently, I find that every 5 minutes or so, my display driver crashes and then usually recovers. It's really annoying when I'm in the middle of something and it constantly crashes. I have tried using different drivers from both laptopvideo2go and the Official Nvidia drivers, but the problem still persists. I am playing Aion beta and World of warcraft and the driver crashes in both of them.
I have used driver sweeper in safe mode and did a full clean but it didn't help.
I've updated my driver numerous times but none seem to solve the problem
Is there any way I can fix this I'm out of ideas
Thanks =)

You can't use both drivers at the same time. What was the last version of the drivers that worked? Roll back to those. It's called the "bleeding edge" because sometimes you get cut.

I really have no idea which drivers used to work...I've updated them so much to try to fix the problem that I couldn't say...What do you mean "you can't use both drivers at the same time"...I don't think I am using more than 1 lol. I usually uninstall 1 and then try a new one.

downgrade to stock VGA only. This will probably commit you to a res of 800x600 for a while. Don't worry.
Now uninstall everything NVidia on your machine. Clean up with something like CCleaner. Go and delete any leftover directories that even smell of Nvidia. Clean up again. Do reboots inbetween the clean/deinstall/deletes. The goal here is to clean out any conflicting or 'bad' drivers you have while the machine is running on the stock MSFT drivers. Repetetion and Patience are key.
Make a choice on which version of Nvidia drivers you want on your machine. D/L it from a trusted source. Make sure that any pre-reqs like 'Net are installed properly FIRST. Now, install the NV drivers 'by the book'. -
I had that issue when my 8400m gs was dying.
Hopefully your GPU is okay. -
Back up your system and perform a clean re-install, or restore it to the original. It is possible as the poster above mentioned that the card is failing.
Display driver keeps crashing
