It looks like it has been awhile since a comparison was done between these two programs. Which one do you like better and why?

Perfect Disk is the best out there! It decreases your boot up time significantly.

Went down from 65 secs boot up to 49 secs

diskeeper's defrag makes system faster than perfectdisk
but once you get an ssd, defrag does nothing but damage ssd

Can you back that statement up? As honestly speaking I lead alot in forums and they all swear by Perfect Disk especially when it comes to the boot time defragmentation pass

Is there anything PerfectDisk can do that Diskeeper can't do?

They both do the same thing it's just Perfect Disk does it better. I've tried both. How? I dunno, try both and measure your boot time then decide

Hm, never heard of last one. Not that I'm an expert, but...

It's free for non-commercial use which is great. But from what I understand it's fairly new program?

personally, i just dont bother with defrag anymore, windows vista and 7 does it automatically, although not as good, not to mention that those programs usually install background processes that use your cpu and ram.. the benefits do not seem to be worth it as much as they did before when computers were not as fast (i used to defrag my computer every chance i got)

instead of paying for a license to, for example, diskeeper, put it towards funding an ssd
