    Hey All

So what do you use for Disk Imaging ? I currently use Dirve Image 7.0 but was thinking of a product called Snapshot ( http://www.drivesnapshot.de/en/index.htm ). Easier to restore (just need bootable cd/floppy even dos mode ). Problem with allot of drive imaging software is having to re-install winodws.

    Curious .............dy

Acronis True Image 8.0 is the best and easiest to use.

Acronis True Image 8.0 and Older versions of norton ghost "2003."

Working at a computer repair shop I tend to use both of the every single day. And yes you can image / restore without reinstalling windows.

Sharp AL27, Athlon 64 2700+ 60Gb hdd, 512Mb mem, 64Mb vid, superbright lcd. DVD +-/RW. Great choice for business use.

So on the advice here as well as some decent reviews I bought Acronis True Image 8. I took a image (stored Locally) then cut to DVD. Local image creation was fast - less than 30 minutes.

I should mention I nuked the original Acer set up (Acer 8104) and re-installed XP and software from scratch.

A word of caution - the rescure (Bootable) CD creation (Full version which offers USB / Card SCSI support) did not work. it would not boot. Acronis offers a SAFE version which did boot but his offers only access to local drives though.

I created a ticket with Acronis - ahhhhhhhhh the advantages of being bleeding edge [ :(!]

the reason i state using "older versions" of ghost is so you can make a bootable floppy disk to ghost drives from any pc. ghost 9 does not have this feature, therefore you have to ghost on the machine that it is installed on. I just like the portability and time savings of having the program on a floppy, or cd for that matter.
