I' looking at taking up the $30 dollar 7 for Students offer, and I emailed Digital River and was told that I could upgrade my Vista Home Premium to either 7 Home Premium or 7 Professional. This seems like a no brainer, but I wanted to ask on here before I commit to a purchase. Are there any features that Windows 7 Home Premium has that Professional doesn't?
Thanks.

Professional has more features than Home Premium.

The main thing you get with Pro is Windows XP mode, which I read is still possible on HP, but you have to install it yourself or something to that effect.

Professional's disadvantage is that it is more expensive. In your case......

Professional has everything that Premium has, so if there's no price difference then your first instinct is correct, it's a no-brainer.
An aside, this is different than it was with Vista, where Home Premuim had some features that Vista Business did not, and vice versa. Vista Ultimate had the features of both. In 7 each succeeding version is a superset of the the features of the lower versions. So Starter<Premuim<Professional<Ultimate/Enterprise. -
Is this an upgrade version or the full version?
-
It's an upgrade edition

It's an upgrade version, but they told me I could install Professional over my home premium. If it doesn't work, I'll send them the email they sent me and hopefully get a Home Premium version in exchange.
Thanks to everyone for the explanation. -
