I have pretty much no use for wake timers and they're a constant irritation given that they can turn on my laptop when it's in a bag. In windows 7 there is an option in the power menu to turn wake timers off but there isn't one in vista. However I would assume thst it simply toggles a few registry values which vista will quite likely also have hidden away somewhere. Does anyone know how you would do this in vista/where said value reside?

Look into the "Task Scheduler". It is how both Vista and Win7 implement these sorts of things.

That's only really covering up the problem. As far as I can tell there's nothing in task scheduler which should wake my PC (although windows task scheduler is a bit of a mess imo, it's difficult to tell what's really going on). I simply want to make it so that wake timers are completely disabled, that way if a new program decides to try something clever and create another one, I can be confident in knowing it will fail miserably.
