In all my folders, the "details" are only Name, forcing me to manually select date modified etc every time I want it sorted.

Is there something wrong with my OS?

You potentially applied the same setting to all folder from the one you looked at....
Or its a windows 7 setting which I assume you use?

    (Not XP or Vista?)

Good news :) (its what I have on my Vaio)

    Different things you can do.
(I am translating menu options, allow for error please)

You can click on "organize" - then "folder and search option"

In the middle tab - you can reset the folder view and then apply to all...

Alternatively, right click the name tab, you should be able to tick the option you want, then go the above path, do not reset, but apply to all :)

    Should do the trick :)
