I have a six year old Dell Latitude running Win 10 which I love and use daily. It has a US standard keyboard layout with the hashtag symbol over the 3.

However, I'm in the UK and I need the UK layout. So that's how I've set it up. But... the Enter key is long and there's not a hashtag key 3 keys over from L, like there usually is.

So, my question is, can I type in a hashtag without having to swap between keyboard layouts constantly?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Dev

To type hashtag (#) in UK layout on a US keyboard, press the backslash (\) button above the Enter key.

    "Shift + \" will result in "~".

    Backslash (\) and vertical bar (|) are trickier: "Ctrl + Alt + \" for "\", "Shift + Ctrl + Alt + \" for "|".
