    Hello there,

All of a sudden i found 3 files on my C: drive with the name ...

    "$$DeleteMe.FXSMON.dll.01c##########f.0001"
    "$$DeleteMe.FXSRESM.dll.01c###########f.0000"
    "$$DeleteMe.FXSRESM.dll.mui.01##########f.0002"

it's a bit tempting to delete it since it says "delete me" lol but i just wanna check if anyone knows what these files are..

I just restored my hdd to factory state yesterday, installed mcafee antivirus & firewall(which i'm not sure if they are any good or not, anyone recommends it?)
Did antivirus updates, and windows update, and installed all necessary software that i had b4(which were all recommended on this forum)..and did a full virus scan..And that's about it.

So anyone knows what these files are related to?

I did a Google search and no one seems to know what it is... unless it causes problems, I suggest you leave it alone, especially if you found them in the Windows directory.

FXSRESM is part of the Vista fax printer monitor. Have you installed windows faxing? Is FXSRESM in the c:\windows\sytem32 directory?

Where are the files located. It looks to me like a bad or the remains of the install process. Is FXSRESM is in the c:\windows\sytem32 directory I don't see why you cannot delete these three.

hmm i didn't instal windows faxing,as a matter of fact i did the opposite,i disabled it,i was running some of the tweaks from the "Top Windows Vista Tweaks.." Thread and in tweak number 7 i disabled Fax in the "services.msc" list

Not sure if that is the problem then or not.
