Does anyone know of any programs for windows that lets you toggle on and off a notepad gadget so that it brings it in front of all your windows when you press a key and makes it disappear when you press the key again? (kind of like dashboard in Macs)

Well, if you use Windows Gadgets in Windows 7 and find a note-taking gadget you like, Win + G brings the gadgets to the front.

That works, but it also means I have to always have a gadget on my desktop.

I found the solution to my question. It is something called Xwidget, which lets you bring forth a dashboard that can be loaded with apps. The only problem I have now is trying to get some of these apps to sync with my gmail/tasks. You can write your own apps but I do not know how to do that currently.
