I've searched for hours on NBR and only found 2 posts concerning my question. I have the laptop in my sig that came with DX10 installed. Since I have the 7900gs which does not support DX10 should I install DX9?

    Thanks!

Vista automatically installs both dx9 and dx10. The reason it installs dx9 is for backward compatibility in programs like games that use it. If your card is dx10 ready then Vista will use dx10.

Aero will run with either a dx9 or dx10 card, As of right now dx10 is a letdown. Most of the gaming sites show games run better and faster in dx9.

Your hardware does not support DX10. Therefore, by process of elimination, you should use the software that does work with your hardware = DX9.

Did you seriously search for hours? -sarcasm-

Hyperbole (pronounced /haɪˈpɝbəli/ or "hy-PER-buh-lee"; "HY-per-bowl" is a mispronunciation) is a figure of speech in which statements are exaggerated. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, and is not meant to be taken literally.
