I have an HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T40L ATA DVD/CD dual layer lightscribe drive which suddenly stopped working. Device manager shows that it exists and that the driver is up to date, but it says "This Device Cannot Start-- Code 10". I've tried uninstalling the drive via device manager and then rebooting, but I get the same result. I also tried physically removing the drive after shutting down, but after re-installation and subsequent reboot the "Found New Hardware" balloon appears, but then says "The Driver Was Not Successfully Installed". My notebook is an HP-dv9700 with retail (full)Vista Ultimate SP1, 2 Gb RAM, and a 160 Gb SATA hard drive.

I would appreciate any help you can offer.
