    Hello all,

Basically I need to make a copy of a wedding DVD but to be honest I dont really know where to start, Microsoft seem to have taken away the ability to copy DVD's natively anyone know any free software to use and with instructions as well, I've tried searching but it seems all the ones I find i need to pay, im only going to be doing this once so i am reluctant to shell out to be honest?

    Any help is appreciated.

And be careful about installing any extras from imgburn when downloading it.

Oh is that in issue with the installer? I haven't used it for years, but I do remember using a LOT when I fussed with a lot of optical media, and was a great free tool for doing basic DVD copy or image manipulation.

It can be but you just have to watch what you click on. I think there is 4 extra junk programs that I just click "decline" . What I like about it is its free and easy to use. Been using it for about 5 years.

It still is a great tool, but it has bloatware bundled with the installer. If you get the installer from ninite: https://ninite.com/ (just choose the program you want from the list) you will not get bloatware from it. That's where I got my copy of imgburn in order not to have to deal with that bloatware mess. You don't have to download ninite or anything like that to get imgburn either, you can do it from your browser or I wouldn't be recommending it.

Yeah, you can always skip the bloatware, but you have to be real careful these days. Normally, I get it from the source, but ever since the sourceforge debacle, I am even more wary of everything and if there's a place I can get a bloatware free installer, I usually go for that. Heck, a few of the places where I used to get my software have gotten pretty bad, downloads from cnet were good at one point, but these days they're absolutely terrible. Sourceforge is a place I don't go to anymore and getting the software at the source is hit or miss these days. I miss the days when it was easy to get the piece of software you wanted and only that.
