As most of you once where, I am new to burning movies to a DVD to watch it on my DVD player.

I have a bunch of .avi movies on my external HD, and was wondering if there is any free software that I can download so I can:

    - Convert them so they can be burned to a blank DVD

    - Burn them to the DVD

    - Be able to watch the DVD on a DVD player

I remember a while ago I tried this (I forgot how I did it), and when I went to watch the movie, the sound was 1-2 seconds after the initial action *a pot hitting the floor....you would hear the "bang" 1-2 seconds after it hit*.

    Thanks for any help.

There are plenty of free and paid tools out there, a simple google search would turn up 100s.

AVI2DVD is one such free tool I've used (works pretty well). Interface is pretty simple and straightforward, anyways here is a guide to make it even simpler ;)

Go to lifehacker.com and search any combination of "dvd", "burn", or "avi" and you will find many great articles on this exact topic.
