I'm having a massive problem. I've recently upgraded my media hard drive to a Seagate 3TB Barracuda XT from 2TB and 1TB Western Digital Green drives.

I copied the movies to the new seagate and now I've begun to notice that there are a bunch of movie files that are corrupted. They simply will not play in VLC, splash pro, Media player, quicktime, or anything!

I downloaded mediainfo to see if maybe it was a codec problem. The result is seen in the attachment. The screen on the right is corrupt and will not play. The screen on the left shows info for the movie that will play just fine. Interestingly enough it seems to identify the codec properly, but the main difference between the two is that the corrupt video is missing any audio codec information.

Also interestingly enough is that (as far as I can tell) only a block of movies starting with A or B will not play. All of the movies were transferred from the Western digital drives so they probably would have been transferred in alphabetical order, so I'm wondering if maybe something happened to that sector of the disk to make these movies corrupted.

Would there be a way to repair these movies or am I out of luck?

And chkdsk has yielded no errors on the disk.

Nah, I'd just rip them again from the original licensed disk you own. If you don't own the disks, then I'm afraid you're out of luck.
