Simple answer is "it depends" :) If you are concerned about Windows system files, start with SFC /scannow in an Administrator Commend prompt. A quick search will lead to the other SFC commands as well as the DISM series of commands. Both may help in restoring or replacing damaged system files. Of course, the big daddy of repairing Windows files is a reinstall, but that can be a pain. Perhaps if you provided a little more information, we could provide more specific help.
    Good luck,

    joe

This depends on alot of factors

    1. If you used it since that issue then consider recovery not possible or repairing not possible.
    2. What kinda file was it

its a program for truck diagnostic, i think i install it wrong, but the readme file says replace the desktop exe shortcut,so i open the rar file and replace it but wont go through and i have a message appear, so i uninstall with revo and install again many times and not successful. last,i open that rar file and click cut and paste the shortcut icon in desktop.. nothing.. so i delete it and empty recycle bin again and when i install it again the file is corrupt because one folder is blank.. maybe in my frustration that i cut and paste it..

You should really take it to a computer shop to figure this out now-doing online fix is going to make the problem worse.
