Any suggestions on tuning down the hard drive access? such as a specific program...Thanks in advance.

Er, how do you mean? If a program wants to access the harddrive, it accesses the harddrive. The only way to prevent that is to pause the program. (or shut it down completely)

Turn off indexing......I presume your using Vista....

i tried using process monitor but each time i try to open it i end up with the error message not enough memory or something (i have way more than enough).

Turn off indexing. Or just let it run overnight
