OK, this one is stumping me.
At some point between the creation of my WinRE partition (Dec13) and today (Dec23), my system was modified in some fashion so that I can't perform a Complete PC Restore using my WinRE partition OR the Windows install disc.
It gives some message stating that it can't locate the backup files.
I attempted to perform a System Restore back to December 20th, but the problem persisted.
Using wbadmin in Vista showed that the system recognized that there were Complete PC Backups on my external drive, but for some reason WinRE won't.
I did try out some different Nvidia drivers for benchmarking, but what changes could they have made that a) could affect this, and b) not be reversed by System Restore.

My system is working at the moment, but losing my main backup system is somewhat nerve-wracking. Any recommendations, aside from copy your data over and do a clean install of the OS?

Invest in a copy of SyncBack Pro.

I need its functionality of complete backup is equal to that of Vista.

I'd prefer not to spend money if I don't have to.
I'm more interested in fixing my system so that I can use what backups I have.

Check your event logs to see if any log items with more specific error information got logged.

did you insert the last disc in first? Vista is retarded needs the last backup disc to see the backup then tells you wrong disc then you put in disc 1 and so on.

I'm using an external hard drive - so that shouldn't have impacted it.
Doesn't matter; I'm moving to 64-bit Vista tonight, so I get a clean system install.

Your system must be able to boot from an external drive in order for the WinRE partition to be able to find the backup on the external drive.

Hope this helps. :) Happy Holidays!
