    Cloning one partition to another

    Before you even start posting, read my post before getting flamed. :)

    This is my situation. I want to clone my Vista C:\ drive to an empty G:\.

    Most of all I want to use it on a Live CD.

    Don't ask why. It's a long story, but if you know one which does exactly that, tell me and I will be happy. :D

    I have used PING, but it restores back to the same drive, and it almost killed my Vista.

    Well, just to avoid any potential inferences of piracy, as well as to satisfy one's vice for curiosity, it's only natural to ask:

    It's not for piracy.

    I want an exact clone of the current Vista partition so that I can restore to another, boot to it and play around safely.

    You may give reasons like recovery discs or whatsoever, but that's not the point here.

    you can use acronis true image to create a bootable cd,
    using the cd, you can make a clone or restore to any partition
